New for 2020: Black Sheep IPA!

Over the past few months, we’ve been secretly working away to launch a brand new keg beer and we’re chuffed to announce that we can now tell the world about our latest addition to the flock!

Black Sheep IPA will launch on Monday 17th February and will be permanently available to pubs and bars up and down the country. So why are we launching a new IPA we hear you ask?! Well, there’s no denying that here at Black Sheep, we’re super proud of our roots and the pioneering spirit that Paul Theakston showed in 1992 to make a stance against bland beer. We also recognise other independent breweries who have followed a similar path to us here at Black Sheep, none more so than those of the West Coast of America where they took the classic ‘IPA‘ style and gave it a new lease of life by using pungent new world hops to offer a different dimension of flavour. We’re hugely inspired by these brewers and so we wanted to launch a special beer that follows in those same values; independence, flavour and new world ingredients.

Black Sheep IPA is hop dominated pint with tropical notes and vibrant grapefruit flavours, the 4.6% IPA is brewed with fresh water from the Yorkshire Dales and fermented using our famous Yorkshire Square system. Its pale malt blend provides a light and gentle base that allows the fruity, piney flavours from the Citra, Simcoe and Columbus hops to flourish. A subtle bitterness finishes the brew perfectly.

You’ll be able to get hold of a pint of Black Sheep IPA directly from the brewery on Monday 17th February and later in the week, you’ll be able to fill your boots at Mr Foley’s Tap House in Leeds as well as the Three Legged Mare and the Last Drop Inn in York!
