We’re partnering with Long Course Weekend Yorkshire!

We’re incredibly pleased to announce that we’re the official beer partner for Long Course Weekend Yorkshire! Following years of success in Wales, New Zealand, Mallorca and Belgium, this ‘triathlon spread over 3 days’ is branching out into England – into the Yorkshire Dales no less! The first LCW Yorkshire will be hosted in Masham this September, and we can’t wait to see sport return to the Dales in a big way with its Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire pedigree. From Friday 6th to Sunday 8th, athletes of any skill level will swim, run and cycle around various locations in the Dales, with special awards for participants completing the full distance in each discipline.

We’ve selected our carbon-neutral Session IPA Respire to be the official beer for Long Course Weekend Yorkshire. Brewed from fresh Dales water and partnered with the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust this fresh, hoppy IPA makes the perfect partner to exploring the beautiful landscape on our doorstep, as well as being the ultimate post-race refreshment. Every pint or bottle of Respire consumed supports tree planting in the Yorkshire Dales – so racing or not, everyone’s a winner!

At Black Sheep, we’re pretty keen on cycling – we’ve even got our own sportive every June in partnership with the Wooden Spoon Charity so we’re incredibly proud to also be title partner of the Yorkshire Dales Sportive at Long Course Weekend Yorkshire – a pretty challenging route with literal breath-taking views of the Dales. The route speeds through Masham, and we can’t wait to see the peloton rushing past the brewery with a pint in hand, just like in le Tour days.

Long Course Weekend is an all inclusive event: there’s a race for all ages and skill-levels, but also plenty going on for supporters off the race course – so make sure to keep an eye out for what we’ve got planned in the coming months.
