Blitzen and Brian Return for 2018!

Feeling festive? It might be November, but we’re getting in the Christmas spirit here at Black Sheep as we welcome back two of our favourite beers for 2018. I am of course talking about Blitzen and Brian!

The return of our festive duo sees an end to our 2018 seasonal calendar of cask ales in what has been an innovative year for our cask offering. We’re rounding it off with these two favourites as they just fly out of the door and you guys love them.

At 4.0%, Blitzen is a Christmas Ruby Ale packed with loads of dark malt to offer delicious notes of biscuit and chocolate. Whilst the Cascade hops mixed with the dried orange peel give a bag full of citrus notes. A touch of Muscavado sugar finishes the brew nicely to give a delicious sweet finish. We’ve given Blitzen a new look for 2018, so keep an eye out for the flashing nose this December. It really is a great beer and we like to see it as Christmas in a glass, the perfect beer to enjoy with family and friends.

Brian is something completely different to Blitzen. First brewed in 2016 in collaboration with the official Monty Python team, Brian is a 3.9% Christmas Pale Ale with lots of fresh, zesty characters. A light malt base offers just a very subtle touch of sweetness to the back end. Way back in 2016, we ran a poll on Facebook to over 1.2 million fans of Monty Python to determine the name of this beer and Brian was the resounding winner! If you’re fancying something a little light when it comes to your Christmas cask ale, then Brian is certainly the one for you.
