STOUT BEER FAQs:
WHAT IS STOUT?
Stout is a dark beer known for its deep, roasted flavours of rich chocolate and coffee. It’s brewed using dark malts, which give it its characteristic dark colour and strong taste.
WHAT IS MILK STOUT?
Milk stout is a type of dark ale that has milk sugar (lactose) in it. This makes it taste sweet and creamy, balancing the usual roasted flavour of a stout.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PORTER AND STOUT?
People sometimes use the words stout or porter interchangeably, but they do have some differences. Both are dark beers brewed with barley, but porters are traditionally lighter and a bit sweeter, while stouts are darker and usually have a stronger alcohol percentage.
WHY IS STOUT BLACK?
Stout looks black because brewers use dark malts, such as roasted barley, during the brewing process. These roasted malts give the stout its dark colour and bring out flavours like coffee or chocolate.
