As an established, family-run business, community spirit is really important to us. We strive to create amazing beer whilst also having a positive impact on the people around us. The Wooden Spoon charity is a fantastic organisation that changes the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children through the power of rugby and it is a charity that we’re proud to support through the Black Sheep Big Spoon Bike Ride.
The Black Sheep Big Spoon Bike Ride is an annual bike ride that traverses the glorious countryside of North Yorkshire. We offer two different routes for the event, the ‘Dessert Spoon’ (55 miles) and the ‘Serving Spoon’ (87 miles), both with their own challenges and beautiful scenery.
The beauty of the Black Sheep Big Spoon Bike Ride is that it is a challenge rather than a race – the winners are disadvantaged children in Yorkshire. All riders are encouraged to raise money for Wooden Spoon, with all proceeds going direct to the charity.
The event starts and ends at the brewery in Masham with each rider getting a well deserved pint and meal on completion!
First established in 2014, the bike ride is growing in popularity and is a must-do for all cycling enthusiasts, allowing you to enjoy a challenging route whilst admiring the stunning views of our home county.
