The Black Sheep Brewery is going for gold with the launch of a new limited edition cask ale for the on-trade market.
Golden Sheep at 3.9% ABV, will be available to selected Black Sheep customers from 2nd March 2009. Developed by Head Brewer Alan Dunn, the new beer caters for the growing demand for lighter ales, suitable for year-round consumption. Alan comments: ‘Golden Sheep is fermented using our Yorkshire Square system, to combine full flavour with a dry and refreshing bitterness, developed with a light, citrusy, soft fruit flavour.
‘We believe it will be popular with both men and women drinkers and is an ideal accompaniment to many popular pub meals, from warming winter casseroles to crispy summer salads. The launch is in response to increased demand from publicans for paler, lighter beers, but with distinctive character.’
Black Sheep currently supplies some 700 outlets throughout the North of England, as well as UK wholesalers and pub chains.
