It’s coming for you… your time (to try Reaper) has come

It’s getting dark earlier, the temperature is dropping and with Cask Ale Week just around the corner, we decided to treat you to a new, frighteningly good seasonal ale in time for Halloween.

The 4.1per cent ABV Reaper, is a rich, rye red ale heading to a cask near you from 25th September until the end of November. Hot on the heels of Velo, our most successful ever seasonal ale, we are confident you’ll love this exciting new addition to our flock just as much.

Reaper’s Summit, Amarillo and Chinook hops recipe gives it a cinder toffee, malty taste which we love and we’re sure you will too. A real autumnal treat, it is perfect for complementing those hearty, warming comfort food treats we all crave this time of year. Try it with something hearty like toad in the hole, a Yorkshire-bred beef burger with sweet chilli and maybe a sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Jo Theakston, Sales and Marketing Director of Black Sheep Brewery said: “Autumn is the season of harvesting and of spooky, Halloween fun and Reaper taps into both of those themes. With its rye red colouring and fantastic taste it is the perfect way to celebrate Cask Ale Week from 25th September to 5th Oct, a time when we always launch something new and exciting.

“We’re keen to hear what pub customers and visitors to our Brewery in Masham think of Reaper. It’s a great example of how the creative and talented team at Black Sheep can deliver something new and fresh from our microbrewery.”

If you want to celebrate Cask Ale Week in style, come along to the Black Sheep Visitor Centre, where we will be celebrating with ‘shepherded’ brewery tours, each followed by tutored tastings, as well as prize giveaways. The Bistro and Sheepy Shop will also be open, and Reaper will of course be at the bar.
