Over 415 people from all parts of the country took to water, bikes and road for the Triathlon which started at Ripon Race Course on Saturday 14th July. Beginning with a 1.5km swim in the lake at Ripon Race Course, followed by a 44km bike ride, containing a mixture of quiet, undulating country roads as well as fast flat dual carriageway, and then finishing off with a 10km run, competitors battled it out in this challenging race.

There was a great response from local people with over 1,000 people coming to watch the event. Organisers ensured this was a fun day out for all the family to enjoy with free camping, bouncy castles and trade stalls, and with fantastic weather on the day the event was a great success.

Allan Russell has been strenuously training for the past four months in order to participate in his first Olympic distance event and successfully raised £1,000 for M.S.

Helen Allison, Marketing Manager at Black Sheep Brewery, said ‘We were delighted to support the NYP Tri (North Yorkshire Police Triathlon) club organisers of the Ripon Triathlon and of course Allan for completing this amazing challenge.’
