Packaging Department Supervisor

Black Sheep Brewery is an award-winning brewery in the beautiful town of Masham in the Yorkshire Dales and we are looking to recruit a Packaging Department Supervisor to join our team.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To lead the bottling operation on a day to day basis and operate the laboratory and Process Equipment. Assist in developing and embedding lean manufacturing techniques across the packaging department.
DUTIES OF THE ROLE
- To role model and ensure teams compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Lead the bottling team, continually driving improvement.
- Development of your team ensuring all training is up to date and identifying training needs to stretch team members using the 70/20/10 model.
- To ensure compliance with all aspects of Food Safety in the department, assisting in embedding and retaining relevant GFSI accreditation.
- Ensure any product leaving site always reaches the high quality standard required at Black Sheep.
- Understand and be competent in carrying out all process operations.
- Assisting where necessary with any process and line operation.
- Day to day management of the bottling team including regular appraisals.

- People Management Experience
- Relevant line operation experience
- Ability to multi task and manage co-current processes.
- Detail orientated.
- Understanding of packaging line metrics.
- High personal, safety and quality standards.
- Leadership.
- Understanding of applicable health and safety regulation in a production environment.
- Planning and organisation.
- Ability to problem solve and identify areas for improvement through use of lean tools.
- Technical understanding and competence with the packaging equipment.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Health & Safety experience / knowledge. Ideally IOSH qualified.
- Packaging line management or stand in. Experienced in people management.
- At least 3 years’ experience of packaging in a FMGC environment, food production would be of benefit.
Desirable
- IOSH qualified
- Ideally worked on a site with an accredited GFSI standard.
- Excellent communication skills, experience of working with multiple levels in an organisation.
- Use and understanding technical documentation to fault find and fix problems.
