Location: Chapel Allerton, Leeds

The Black Sheep Tap and Kitchen, Chapel Allerton, Leeds are recruiting a Head Chef to join their kitchen team.

About The Role

As Head Chef you will oversee the operational side of the kitchen, you will be responsible for maintaining the kitchens budget expectations, in sales and GP.

You will also need experience in:

  • Ensure that the kitchen staff adhere to Quality, Hygiene and Cleanliness standards
  • Be up to date on all current legislation around food handling and service
  • Managing the inventory and ordering of stock as needed
  • Dealing with suppliers and ensuring that they supply quality goods at affordable prices

Experience and skills:

  • The Ability to constantly perform well in a high-pressured environment
  • Excellent organisational skills to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Strong financial acumen, including the ability to manage a budget
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a kitchen team
  • Knowledge of food production methods
  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • The ability to organise your time and workload
  • Leadership skills

Qualifications:

Food Hygiene Level 2, Level 3 would be desirable

Level 3 or 4 diploma in professional cookery

First Aid at work

Salary is dependent on experience, but starting at £26,000 per year
