Black Sheep IPA

A classic IPA and nod to our rich British brewing history. Bold & Characterful.

‘Black Sheep IPA’ has been brewed in homage to the original, highly-hopped IPAs that were exported to British troops stationed in British India, as it was previously known, more than 200 years ago. This is an unapologetic brew, packing heaps of hop and bitterness. This India Pale Ale is true to the classic style, using a plethora of English hops including Progress and Goldings to pack it with a distinctly characterful flavour profile. A deep and potent, sweet malt base aligns with the bitterness to leave a superbly balanced ale.

Taste

On the palate, IPA brings through a powerful bitterness from the English hops that drop a touch of pepper before a pleasant fruitiness. The malt characteristics invite a resinous, sweet note which blends perfectly with the hop to leave a perfectly balanced India Pale Ale.

Ingredients

A blend of pale ale and crystal malt alongside torrified wheat makes up the mashbill of our IPA. A hefty amount of English hops including Fuggles, Goldings, Challenger and Progress contribute to the delightful bitterness and aroma. All of this blended with our rich Yorkshire water makes up our classic IPA.
